Many that are first will be last…

Jesus said in Matthew 19:30, “But many that are first shall be last, and the last shall be first.”

Jacob had twelve sons which are the founders of the twelve tribes of Israel (Jacob). They were born in the following order:

Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah (with Leah, Jacob’s second wife)

Dan and Naphtali (with Bilhah, Rachel’s handmaid)

Gad and Asher (with Zipah, Leah’s handmaid)

Issachar and Zebulon (with Leah, Jacob’s second wife)

Joseph and Benjamin (with Rachel, Jacob’s first wife)

Leah’s sons were born first in Jacob’s family and wanted to be first. Jacob emphasized their position within his family by keeping Leah, their mother, second by not moving in with her.

Rachel was first in Jacob’s life and family. Jacob reserved the primary position within his family for Rachel’s children. Rachel’s children were born last and yet immediately moved into first position when they were born. Leah’s sons, Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, were born first, but are last. Rachel’s sons, Joseph and Benjamin, were born last and yet they became first.

Jesus said in Matthew 19:9, “And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery; and whosoever marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.”

The first man will put his children with his second wife first because he is living with his second wife. The second man, the man that marries the divorced mother, will put his children that he has with her before the child or children of her first marriage. Both men are taking advantage of and replacing the children of the first family with their children. This is an awful position that these men are putting the children of the first family in – one where there are many sacrifices that must be made in order to accommodate the children of men or the children of adultery as they should be called. Save the first family!

The twelve tribes of Israel

Jesus said to his disciples, “Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Matthew 19:28)

Today, the twelve tribes of Israel are represented around the world. Hence, it doesn’t matter which religion that we may currently follow. What matters is, “do we follow Jesus?” He is the way, the truth, and the life. Jesus’ disciples will be judging us!

How important is the first family?

When Jesus said the following words to his disciples, “Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery, and whosoever marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery”, his disciples responded by saying, “If the case of the man be so with his wife, it is not good to marry.”

Jesus said in response, “All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.”

For the others, he recommended castration. “For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.” (Matthew 19:9-12)

First of all, every man gets to choose for himself. Ultimately, his or her decision will determine their future. The first family is not an option, it is a requirement. A man without his first wife, a woman without her first husband, and children without a father or a mother is something that God does not permit. Our first family is the cornerstone of our entire family, but to divorce and move in with a second spouse is not permitted. In order to enter into the kingdom of heaven, our first family must be first and the children of our first family must be our cornerstones. Save the first family!

Divorce

Jesus said unto them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery, and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.” (Matthew 19:8-9)

The word “suffered” in the scriptures means to allow or permit. Women, children, and even men must not be forced to stay with someone that abuses them. They must be permitted the opportunity to leave. But both partners cannot remarry nor should they move in with another person or cheat on their spouse. They stay separate until they can work things out and it could take years. A man cannot remarry and another man cannot marry a man’s divorced wife. Jesus said in Matthew 19:6, “…they are no more twain, but one flesh.” This doesn’t apply to the second wife or second husband and their children. It is exclusive to the first wife and the first husband and their children. Save the first family!

Straight is the gate

Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-15, “Enter ye in at the strait gate for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be that go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

I believe that our salvation is through our first families and keeping our family unit intact and not broken. We can divorce, but we must never remarry. When remarriage occurs, it destroys the possibility that the two will ever come together again. Iniquity is one of our greatest problems around the world, but it starts with adultery. Adultery, the act lusting and of putting someone other than our first spouse into the primary position in our lives, compromises our families. Today, there are many pastors that will marry the divorced. For this reason iniquity abounds and most have chosen the wide gate rather than the narrow gate. Adultery is the seed to most of our other sins. Our children need a mother and a father that are devoted to their family and not someone else’s family. Marriage is a partnership between the husband and the wife – one that consists of love, repentance, and forgiveness rather than fear and punishment. Save the first family!

Jacob’s heirs – Part II

Not only do we have a lot of men walking in our midst, we also have a lot of children of men. Their fathers never put them into their proper place within the family.

We need sons of God and children of God. Our mothers need to take a stand for the Father of their children – God! Our role is very important. Mothers, make sure that your husbands know about your children’s place within the family tree. Do not let our men put their second family first and their first family last!

Luke 16:18, Jesus said, “Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery, and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.”

Save the first family!
