Broken homes where adulterers live

Jesus said in Mark 10:18-19, “Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one, God. Thou knoweast the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.”

Adultery is a sin that has the potential to reach  out and cause harm to many generations – much like an octopus with tentacles. In homes where adultery is present, children are sometimes abused and killed. Sometimes the child’s parent that has committed adultery may be killed by the other parent or one of the adulterers. Adults may take things from the children of the first family in order to give to their own children – the ones that they have with the child’s parent. Adults frequently defraud the children of the first family legally in order to acquire the property of the child’s parents so that they can give to their own children. Adults take the child’s parents away from the children of the first family. Adults that have committed adultery seldom listen to their parents when they tell them that they are harming the children of the first family. All of this and more can happen in a home where adulterers live.

Are we living in an adulterous generation?

Jesus said in Mark 8:38, “Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

Adults are responsible

Adultery is a sin against children, against a spouse, and against God’s family. Anyone that separates a family has committed adultery.

Jesus said in Matthew 18:6-7, “But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. Woe unto the world because of offences! For it must needs be that offences come, but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh. ”

For adults the offence against children could be to move in with or to marry another man’s divorced wife. Statistics prove that step-parents and live in boyfriends are much more likely to abuse step-children! Do not bring an unrelated adult into the family home to replace your spouse. Protect your children!

Stardom and the act of being famous

Followers  are constantly looking for heroes. Some follow football stars, soccer stars, actors, singers, inventors, and even doctors. Many will worship these men as though they were God on Earth. They will flock to gatherings in order to worship them. But according to Jesus many of these heroes will gain recognition around the world and yet, because they did not keep the commandments, will not make it to Heaven. We must be careful about who we follow. Worship only one – God!

“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.” (Matthew 16:26-27)

Our perception

Our perception of our world and our existence determines which side of our brain is dominant.

If our life is focused on the physical, we will spend much of our life as followers. Many will focus on fashion trends, the neighbor’s new car, a mansion in an elite section of town, jewelry, the body of women, etc. It is a life lived based upon what you can see. This perception is very limited and is like a tight skin that limits our life and our opportunities. None of the things are transferable to Heaven.

If our life is focused upon the unseen – things which involve genuine love for others, our focus will be broad. Faith and love are both about living outside the body. In this realm we don’t worry about things. We put one foot in front of the other as we walk one step closer to Heaven. We look forward and outward – not focusing on just the path in front of us but taking in the full view. We don’t rehearse what we will say, but instead live in the moment and trust in God to find the words for us to speak. These things are transferable to heaven.

“No man can serve two masters: for he will hate the one, and love the other, or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not life more than meat, and the body than raiment.” (Matthew 6:24-25)
