The Step-Parent or the Step-Child… who is your heir?

Jesus said in Matthew 5:32, “But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery, and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

In this scripture, Jesus is trying to safeguard God’s children. God desires that every child have a mother and a father – not a mother, father, step-father, and step-mother. It is through the process of adultery that the family is split asunder by two adults – a step-father and a step-mother. In this process, step-parents replace the children of the first family as heirs. This is exactly the way the Jacob’s second wife, Leah, and her children would have wanted it, but Jacob did not allow it. Even still today, many fall for the laws of the lost children of the house of Israel. They prefer to put their trust in a lawyer and pastor instead of God.
Lawyers do not have the authority from God to break up a family and our pastors do not have the authority to marry someone that is divorced. The first family must remain in the primary position. The second family must always remain secondary. But, all of this changes when a parent moves in with an unrelated stranger. This is when the first family begins to fall through the cracks. God allows the children of the first family to be heirs and we must let them be our primary heirs! Please do not replace or let someone else replace the children of your first family with the children of your second family. Let Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob be your example and not a lawyer or a pastor. Save your first family!
