Jesus said in Matthew 21:41-44, “Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes? Therefore I say unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whosoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.”
In the scriptures that come before these, Jesus is using a parable to talk about the family and the man’s (husbandman’s) responsibility to his family. The fruits that the lord of the vineyard desires to receive are our children. God wants the whole family in Heaven with him. God has leased his family out to men for their care and protection. When a man abandons his family for another woman, it is very damaging to our children. (This also includes the mother abandoning her family for another man.) Abuse and abandonment are things that shake up our children’s faith and separate them from God, who is the Lord of the vineyard (the family). Our children are the cornerstones between the man and the woman, but the children of the first family are the primary cornerstones. These children of the first family are the children that are hurt so badly when the family is broken or torn apart by another man or another woman. In many cases these cornerstones are aborted because the father has moved on to another woman. The mother will make the very bad choice to have this child aborted because the father shows no interest in his family or the unborn child. Also, the children of the first family, our cornerstones, are the ones that are the most likely to be abused when an an unrelated adult (step-father, live in boyfriend, step-mother, or live in girlfriend) moves into the family home. If we fall on this child by injuring this child, we will be broken. Worse still, if we should kill this child (the cornerstone) either by abortion or by abuse, we will be ground to powder. Save the first family!
