Second wives

Do second wives want to be treated like first wives? Of course they do. Our laws permit the second wife and her children to replace the first wife and her children. Even Hagar, Abraham’s second wife, and Leah, Jacob’s second wife, wanted to be first wives, but neither Abraham nor Jacob permitted it. These men never moved in with either one of them. In order for the family to stay intact, the first family must remain in the primary position; otherwise, the family will be split apart.
