Be followers of Jesus!

We have many members of many different religions that claim to be “Christian”. But in truth, how many actually follow Christ’s teachings – especially those regarding family and the ones that Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob followed? Why don’t we all just say that we are “followers of Jesus”? Furthermore, there is no reason to hate Jesus’followers. Jesus came to teach us about his Father and his Father’s love for us. He taught repentance, forgiveness, love, and family. Do you accept Jesus as your Shepherd?

Jesus said, “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls.” (Luke 21:17-19)

Lawyer Terminology

In Genesis, it is clear that the term, “issue” refers to all of a man’s children and not some of a man’s children. When there is divorce and remarriage within a family, the second family must never be permitted to be the sole heirs or the controlling heirs of any family property. When parents permit this to happen, they are mistakenly making the children of their second family into false cornerstones of their family. Be very careful about the words that lawyers put into wills and other documents.

Genesis 48:5-6, Jacob said to Joseph, “And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.”

Who is more important…the other woman or the first family?

When parents, the builders of a child, abandon their children for another man or another woman, they are elevating the children of the first family into the position of cornerstone of the entire family. If they fail to lift this child up as the cornerstone of the entire family and the child falls from their social position within the family, these adulterous parents will be broken. Worse still, if these adulterous parents or their partners kill this cornerstone, they will be ground to powder.

Jesus said, “What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner? Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder. (Luke 20: 17-18)

Abraham’s Family Tree

Every man has a family tree. That tree is based upon the women that he has loved and the women with whom he has laid. Even though Jacob laid with Leah before Rachel, Rachel is the one that he loved and pledged to make his wife. She was his first true love. Furthermore, the children of a man’s first wife are the cornerstone of his family. It does not matter if he has children with his second wife that are older. The children of the first wife always come first before the children of the second wife. Go to Wikipedia.com and look at “Abraham’s family tree”. Then try to draw your own family tree.

Leadership and Vision

Warren Bennis said, “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.”

Jesus is the only man that has been able to offer us that reality. It begins with the structure of our families. The first family must always be primary and not secondary. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) There is no other way!
